Milwaukee’s First, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) student run organization, partners up with local dance studio, Daync Studios, for a latin dance night.

Milwaukee’s First’s mission is to build a community of support for first generation students at UWM, celebrate their strengths and accomplishments, and promote awareness through education, advocacy and community engagements. Based off of the UWM’s definition, first generation students are students with a parent(s) or guardian who did not obtain a 4 year college degree or higher.

It becomes full circle for Daync Studios, who’s owners are UWM Alumni and first generation students, as they return to campus to teach a dance class.
